Worth mentioning about myself
My professional journey began with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology. Driven by a deep curiosity about how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, I went on to earn a PhD in this field — focusing on concentration and mental fatigue in the brain.
During this time, I developed a knack for making complex ideas easy to understand — a skill I now bring directly into my work. I help turn knowledge into clarity, and clarity into meaningful change.
In addition to my academic background, I completed certified training as a psychological coach and couples counselor through the Bildungswerk für therapeutische Berufe. I continue to expand my expertise through ongoing education in systemic couples therapy, sex therapy and emotion-focused counseling.
What matters most to me: Science should be paired with heart — and true growth happens where authenticity is welcome.
My path has always been diverse — from academic positions and freelance work as a psychologist to roles as a data scientist in large companies. These experiences have taught me to stay curious and adaptable.
Growing up in a multicultural family, I learned early on to see and value different perspectives. During my studies, I lived and worked in the Netherlands, England, France, and Canada. I completed my PhD in Belgium — a journey that continues to shape me today.
Through all of these experiences, I’ve gained not only knowledge, but also a deep appreciation for the many ways people think, feel, and love. This understanding forms the foundation of my work as a psychological coach and couples counselor — empathetic, resource-focused, and always at eye level.
When I’m not supporting couples in conversation, I’m fully immersed in colorful everyday life — together with my Australian husband and our little daughter. As a multicultural family, we experience every day just how enriching, inspiring, and sometimes challenging it can be when different cultures and perspectives meet. It’s taught me that there often isn’t one objective “right” or “wrong” — and that openness is something I bring into my work as a psychologist.
I draw my energy from conversations that are real and alive — the kind that touch on the heart of life. I’m constantly inspired by new perspectives because they help me keep seeing the world in new ways. At the same time, I’ve learned how vital it is to pause now and then: to take a deep breath, feel the moment, and then move forward.
These small moments give my life depth and color — and that’s exactly the feeling I hope to pass on to you. I look forward to creating spaces with you where you feel welcome, just as you are, with whatever you bring.
